Every Year After Greenlit for Season 2, Adapting Carley Fortune's 'One Golden Summer'

Prime Video has officially greenlit Every Year After for season two. The announcement came Saturday, June 27, during the streamer's Obsessed Fest in Los Angeles.

The upcoming season will draw from Carley Fortune's sequel novel, "One Golden Summer," with the story centering on Michael Bradway's character Charlie Florek as romance blooms anew.

The premise of "One Golden Summer" follows Alice, a photographer who returns to Barry's Bay with her grandmother Nan after the latter sustains a hip injury. What was meant to be a peaceful summer takes an unexpected turn when Charlie Florek—now grown into a charming adult—arrives in a familiar yellow speedboat. The two share a complicated history; years earlier, Alice had photographed Charlie without his knowledge when they were both teenagers. As the summer unfolds, their reconnection becomes a transformative experience for Alice, who has spent her adult life comfortable behind the camera but yearning for something deeper in her personal life.

Returning to the cast for season two are Michael Bradway, Matt Cornett as Sam Florek, Sadie Soverall as Percy Fraser, Abigail Cowen as Delilah Mason, Aurora Perrineau as Chantal, and Joseph Chiu as Jordie Lin. Showrunner Amy B Harris will also continue in her role.
