Fat Joe Claims Cavaliers Revoked His Courtside Seats Before Eastern Conference Finals Game

Fat Joe found himself in an unexpected courtside controversy during the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday night (May 25), when the Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the New York Knicks for the series-clinching game.

The Knicks dominated the matchup, sweeping the series 4-0 to advance to the NBA Finals. A slew of celebrity Knicks fans—including Timothee Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Ben Stiller, and Tracy Morgan—were in attendance, though they weren't visible in courtside seats at the start of the contest.

Fat Joe, who had traveled to Ohio for the game, went public with his grievance before tipoff. Speaking on NBA Today, the rapper revealed that he and his group had purchased courtside tickets only to have them revoked.

"We had bought some courtside tickets to the game and once they found out it was superfan Fat Joe, they was like, I can't sit courtside. New York Knick fans can't sit courtside," he explained. "They took the tickets away courtside after we purchased it, so shame on you all."

The Cavaliers quickly issued a statement addressing the situation. A team spokesperson told the New York Post that the move was standard protocol: "Playoff courtside seating is governed by a specific agreement that prohibits the resale or transfer of tickets without approval. All courtside ticket holders are required to comply with the terms of the single-game playoff agreement."

The situation apparently extended beyond Fat Joe's experience. According to an insider who spoke with the Post, at least 10 other Knicks fans holding courtside seats received calls from a Cavaliers executive notifying them their seats were no longer available.
