Flavor Flav Celebrates Female Champions With Inaugural SHE Weekend in Las Vegas

The countdown is on for Flavor Flav's highly anticipated SHE Weekend, a four-day celebration set to transform Las Vegas in July with a focus on honoring female athletic champions.

The hip-hop legend, alongside his manager Rhiannon Rae Ellis, traveled to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France to unveil details about the star-studded event. During a conversation with Evin Shutt, global CEO of 72andSunny, the pair shared the vision behind bringing more than 100 female athletes to Flav's hometown for the recognition they deserve.

The concept emerged from a desire to showcase female athletes differently than recent high-profile moments. After the U.S. Women's Hockey Team declined a White House invitation following their Olympic gold medal victory, and amid commentary about whether such an honor was even necessary, Flavor Flav decided to take action. "Trump is doing these girls bad," Rhiannon reportedly suggested, spurring the idea to create an alternative celebration in Vegas.

Flavor Flav explained his motivation: "These girls are out here busting their ass to make the United States look good. Why can't they get the same treatment as the guys?" He contrasted his approach with recent White House hospitality, promising attendees a markedly different experience. "My girls are going to eat way better than that. We going to be having shrimp, steak, lobster. We going to be partying. We going to be parading. We going to be celebrating."

The festivities kick off Thursday, July 16, with a parade down the Las Vegas Strip leading to a free concert at Toshiba Plaza. The weekend lineup includes performances from the Backstreet Boys and Ed Sheeran, complete with meet-and-greet opportunities for all female attendees.

Beyond Olympic medalists, the guest list encompasses champions from various fields. The Professional Women's Hockey League's Montreal victors are invited, as is Kentucky Derby winner Cherie DeVaux, who made history as the first female trainer to claim the prestigious title.

Major corporate partners are making the event possible. MGM Resorts is providing over 100 hotel rooms for traveling athletes, while Delta Airlines—Team USA's official carrier—is supplying complimentary flights. Creative agency 72andSunny developed the event's branding and graphics.
