Florence Pugh Spotted Filming With Andy Samberg on Central Park Bicycle Scene for '42.6 Years'

Florence Pugh has seemingly landed a role in Andy Samberg's forthcoming film 42.6 Years, based on candid photos from a New York City shoot.

The Oscar-nominated performer was captured on camera Thursday, June 18, while filming in Central Park with Samberg. In the scene, Pugh stood on the back of a bicycle that Samberg pedaled through the park.

While her involvement hasn't been officially announced through casting notices, industry logic suggests Pugh is portraying the younger incarnation of Ruthie, the ex-girlfriend central to the film's plot. According to Deadline, the movie chronicles the story of Ben (Samberg), who regains consciousness after an experimental cryogenic procedure that kept him frozen for 42.6 years. His mission becomes reconnecting with Ruthie (Annette Bening), who has lived an entire life in his absence despite his unchanged appearance.

Beyond his starring role, Samberg has been instrumental in developing the project. He conceived the original story alongside writer Seth Reiss and is also serving as a producer. Director Michael Schwartz, known for helming The Peanut Butter Falcon, is leading the production.

Pugh's slate remains packed with major releases heading into the final months of 2026. Two franchise tentpoles—Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday—are both arriving on December 18. Additionally, she'll appear in the Netflix limited series adaptation of East of Eden.
