Florence Pugh is set to headline the film adaptation of Matt Haig's beloved novel The Midnight Library, with Garth Davis directing.

Pugh will take on the central role of Nora Seed, a character who discovers herself in a mysterious library positioned between life and death. From this extraordinary setting, she's granted the opportunity to witness and experience the various lives she might have lived had she made different choices.

Davis expressed his enthusiasm about the project and his collaboration with Pugh. "I couldn't be more excited to reunite with Florence Pugh on The Midnight Library," he said. "Her warmth and talent are magical, and together I know we'll do something special working with Matt's iconic novel. This is a story that moves us both — a celebration of life in all its possibility and complexity. With Graham Broadbent, Blueprint Pictures and Studiocanal behind us, I can't wait to illuminate this adventure."

Haig, the novel's author, also shared his excitement about seeing his work adapted for cinema. "I am so happy that Nora's story is in such great hands, and that her myriad possibilities will be vividly reawakened by the absolute perfect team. And I can't wait for people to see my book reimagined for the big screen," he said.

The novel follows Nora as she navigates the Midnight Library's infinite possibilities, considering alternate paths including different careers, rekindled or avoided relationships, and abandoned aspirations like becoming a glaciologist. Throughout her journey, she grapples with fundamental questions about what truly brings fulfillment and makes life worth living.
