Gaten Matarazzo Cheers On Elizabeth Yu at Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Premiere

Gaten Matarazzo made an appearance at the Avatar: The Last Airbender season two premiere to celebrate his longtime partner Elizabeth Yu. The Stranger Things actor, 23, was on hand for the event held at the Autry Museum of the American West in Griffith Park on Tuesday, June 23, in Los Angeles.

Yu looked stunning in a Moschino dress paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and Nadri earrings. Matarazzo complemented the occasion with a navy suit and black shoes, keeping his look refined and understated.

On Instagram, Yu shared photos from the evening with a playful caption referencing her season two appearance.

The couple has been navigating a long-distance relationship while pursuing careers in entertainment. During an appearance on Chelsea Handler's Dear Chelsea podcast, Matarazzo discussed how they've made it work. "We communicate really, really well," he explained, crediting their ability to stay connected despite time apart as crucial to their relationship's success.

"A big key to it is thriving through distance," Matarazzo said. "That's kind of what we were thrust into early on. I was working on the show and was also simultaneously pursuing and starting her own career in the same industry."

He noted that their shared home base in the same city has been essential. "So anytime we go and travel for work, we know we're coming back to each other here in the city," he shared. While they don't live together, Matarazzo revealed they reside very close to one another.

Yu returns to her role as Princess Azula, the driven Fire Nation princess and firebending prodigy determined to secure her place as heir to the throne. Season two of Avatar: The Last Airbender launches on Netflix on Thursday, June 25.
