The decades-old question of which boyfriend was right for Rory Gilmore continues to captivate fans, and Scott Patterson—who spent seven seasons playing Luke on the beloved series—just offered his own perspective on the enduring debate.

During an appearance on MIKE on Fox29, Patterson approached the Team Dean, Team Jess, and Team Logan discussion from an unexpected angle. Rather than focusing on romance or chemistry, he applied what he called a "practical" framework to the question.

"If we sort of game theory out marriage to each one of these guys and then you look 10 years out into the marriage… and let's say there are two kids now and they're 10 years in, I think Dean and Jess and Logan, I think they're all going to cheat on her," Patterson said.

But there's more to his analysis. When it comes to a potential divorce settlement, Patterson believes Rory would fare best with one particular suitor. "In a divorce settlement, I think she does best with Logan, 'cause she is gonna get a pile of money. She'll also get revenge on Mitchum Huntsberger, who kind of destroyed her confidence in the journalism game," he explained.

The three actors who played Rory's romantic interests have each previously shared their own preferences about which relationship was the strongest, offering their own takes on the fan-favorite debate that continues to spark conversation among viewers of the series.
