Gina Carano Drops 100 Pounds Ahead of Netflix Showdown With Ronda Rousey

Gina Carano is ready for her moment. The 44-year-old actress, known for her roles in Deadpool and The Mandalorian, will step into the ring against Ronda Rousey in a live Netflix battle this weekend—and she's undergone a dramatic physical transformation to get there.
Carano announced her 100-pound weight loss on social media, sharing that she now weighs 141.4 pounds ahead of the bout. The journey from September 2024 to May 15, 2026, represents more than a year and a half of dedicated training and lifestyle changes.
"I worked so damn hard every week for over a year and a half to shed this weight. It did not happen overnight," Carano wrote in an emotional post about her achievement.
The former Disney+ star opened up about her starting point, revealing she was pre-diabetic and struggled with basic mobility when she began her fitness journey. "I was pre-diabetic, had trouble simply walking in September 2024 and have been on the path to recovery to turn myself back into an athlete since then," she explained.
Carano credited Rousey with playing a pivotal role in her success, expressing gratitude for her opponent's patience as she worked toward her weight-loss goal. "If it wasn't for having this incredibly challenging goal in fighting @rondarousey I most definitely wouldn't have reached this," she noted, thanking Rousey for allowing the fight to be postponed until Carano felt ready.
The training process wasn't without obstacles. Carano acknowledged the ups and downs, plateaus, and learning curves that came with her transformation. "There was so much to learn, too much to unpack here, ups, downs, plateaus, things I learned late I wish I learned earlier, trial by error but I did it," she reflected.
As she looks ahead to the fight, Carano expressed gratitude to her support system. "I thank God, my husband and my family for sticking with and encouraging me the whole way," she wrote, adding that she plans to continue her health journey beyond this milestone.
The Netflix clash between Carano and Rousey is scheduled for Saturday night at 9pm ET. The two fighters attended a press conference at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Thursday to promote the event.
