Ella Bright Delivers Emotional Ballad for 'Off Campus' Series Finale

Ella Bright takes center stage musically in the season finale of Prime Video's new series Off Campus, delivering an introspective ballad that becomes a defining moment for her character.
The ice hockey romance drama follows an elite team and the women connected to them as they navigate love, heartbreak, and personal growth while building lasting friendships through the challenges of young adulthood. Season 1 centers on the dynamic between Hannah Wells, a quiet songwriter, and Garrett, Briar University's standout hockey player, in an opposites-attract storyline.
Bright's character gets her moment to shine through music in episode 8, performing the emotional track during a talent showcase. The song explores themes of vulnerability, self-discovery, and learning to trust again after past pain—key emotional beats for Hannah's arc throughout the season.
The actress actually provided her own vocals for the performance rather than lip-syncing. She worked with a vocal coach during filming and made studio visits on her days off to ensure the recording captured an authentic performance.
"I feel very happy to say that it was all me," Bright told Variety about the experience.
Though she initially felt anxious about tackling the musical element, the opportunity ultimately became one of her favorite aspects of working on the show. The ballad gives Hannah's character a chance to express her inner world in a way dialogue alone couldn't achieve.
