Goose Concertgoer Dies After Balcony Fall at Madison Square Garden

A tragedy unfolded at Madison Square Garden during the weekend when a concert attendee fell from an upper level of the arena, resulting in his death.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:51pm on Saturday, June 20, during a performance by the band Goose. The man, identified as 51-year-old Paul Kueker of Niantic, Connecticut, was seated in the 300s section of the venue alongside his wife when the fall happened.

Emergency responders discovered Kueker unconscious and unresponsive with injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated location. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The exact circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear.

Goose addressed the incident through a statement shared on Instagram, expressing their sorrow over the tragedy. "We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight's show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support," the band said.

Despite the devastating circumstances, Goose chose to proceed with their scheduled performance the following evening. In a second statement, the group explained their decision to play a Sunday night show in Central Park as an opportunity for community support. "We considered whether or not we were going to play and came to the decision that the best thing we can do right now is bring our community together, lean on one another, and offer a space for healing. So let's be kind to each other tonight and remember our friend," they wrote.
