Kathryn Gallagher Returns With "Stella," a Track About Reimagining Her Life

Kathryn Gallagher is making her musical comeback with fresh material following a hiatus from releasing original work.

The Tony-nominated performer, recognized for her roles in Broadway productions including Jagged Little Pill and Spring Awakening, has released her latest single "Stella."

Speaking about the track, Kathryn explained the song's concept: "'Stella' is about an alternate fantasy version of my life where I cut off all my hair and move to the woods. Sometimes you have to start all over to realize what you really care about and what really makes you happy."

The creative process behind "Stella" unfolded across multiple sessions and locations. Kathryn collaborated with Ella Vos on the songwriting, working together in her parents' living room in New York the previous year. The recording took place in Los Angeles during the summer months, followed by the music video shoot in November 2025, which Kathryn directed herself.

"making music is so fun i really hope you like it <3," she shared with fans on Instagram.

Beyond her chart success, Kathryn has built an impressive career across multiple entertainment mediums. Television audiences know her from appearances on You and Gossip Girl, while film credits include Woman of the Hour and Parachute. She also contributed original music to the Woman of the Hour soundtrack.
