H.E.R. and Liza Soberano Voice Lead Characters in DreamWorks' Animated Adventure 'Forgotten Island'

DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer for Forgotten Island, the studio's upcoming original animated feature arriving in theaters on September 25, 2026. The film comes from the creative team behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

The movie centers on Jo and Raissa, voiced by Grammy and Academy Award-winning artist H.E.R. and Liza Soberano respectively. The characters are high school graduates and lifelong best friends preparing to embark on separate journeys. Before parting ways, they plan one final evening together—a night that takes an unexpected magical turn.

When Jo and Raissa discover a mysterious portal, they find themselves transported to Nakali, an enchanted island teeming with magical and mythological creatures. The fantastical realm draws inspiration from the stories passed down through their Filipino heritage.

The adventure quickly grows perilous when the pair encounter The Dreaded Manananggal, a formidable foe brought to life by Tony Award winner Lea Salonga. To navigate their predicament, Jo and Raissa team up with Raww, a kindhearted weredog voiced by Dave Franco, along with several other new companions. The group races against time to find a way back to the real world before their cherished memories of friendship fade away forever.

The voice cast also includes Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, and Ronny Chieng.
