Performing in the UK has long been a dream of mine, and to do so with a story that holds such deep meaning makes it even more special. Ultimately, I chose to take on this role for the fans, whose unwavering support, love, and shared nostalgia have made High School Musical so special!"

The casting news came shortly after Stroh announced on Instagram that her family was relocating to England. "It's going to ? AMAZING!!! We are SO excited for this new adventure and can't wait to take you along for the ride ??????????? Big adventure. Big energy. Big reason…" she posted at the time.

Fans quickly pieced together that the move was connected to her involvement with the stage production. The announcement also earned a thumbs-up from Kenny Ortega, who directed the original High School Musical films. "Break – a – Leg Kaycee!!! Wishing you and your beautiful family a magical experience! Much Love and Good Times! ??" Ortega commented, with Stroh replying, "thanks Kenny love you????"

The stage production marks the first UK non-replica adaptation of Disney's High School Musical and celebrates the original film's 20th anniversary. The ensemble cast includes Jason Donovan as Coach Bolton, Tobias Turley as Troy Bolton, Leonor Correia as Gabriella Montez, Caitlin Tipping as Sharpay Evans, and Luke Bayer as Ryan Evans.
