Hot Ones Brings Celebrity Interviews to Netflix With New Live Event Series

Netflix is expanding the reach of the wildly successful interview series Hot Ones with a brand new live event format.

The streaming platform has commissioned Hot Ones: Extra Heat, a fresh take on the beloved YouTube show helmed by Sean Evans. Rather than confining the action to the traditional studio setting, these specials will coincide with Netflix's live programming events, giving the signature wing-eating interviews a more expansive stage.

The debut installment arrives on July 13, following baseball's Home Run Derby. Will Ferrell, Fortune Feimster, and Jimmy Tatro will sit down for the premiere episode, timed to coincide with their forthcoming Netflix comedy series The Hawk.

"As someone who studies the late-night interview space, I'm fascinated by the craft of conversation and feel these moments deserve the kind of production value and grandeur that a traditional studio sometimes can't provide," Evans shared in a statement. "Working with Netflix gives us the chance to push the format forward in new ways while preserving the essential elements that audiences have embraced since day one."

Since debuting in 2015, Hot Ones has accumulated more than 400 episodes. The original YouTube show remains its home base, with spinoff series Hot Ones Versus and Hot Ones Wing Pong continuing on the platform.
