Lady Gaga's 'Mayhem Requiem' Apple Music Special Premieres This Week

Lady Gaga is bringing the curtain down on her Mayhem era with a special filmed performance arriving imminently.

The intimate concert special, titled Apple Music Live: Lady Gaga Mayhem Requiem, launches Thursday, May 14 at 8 p.m. PT (11 p.m. ET/midnight ET on Friday, May 15) across Apple Music and 15 AMC theater locations nationwide. The livestream will be accessible on Apple Music without requiring a subscription at premiere time, though the full performance and Spatial Audio album version will afterward be exclusive to paying Apple Music subscribers.

Directed and produced by Morningview, the special captures a reimagined take on Gaga's Grammy-winning seventh album, filmed live on January 14 at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. The phone-free performance drew approximately 2,300 audience members who were randomly selected through a lottery from her mailing list.

The concert represents a stark departure from the grandeur of her Mayhem Ball tour, which traveled globally with an ornate opera house structure as part of its staging. That elaborate backdrop explored themes of duality, death, and rebirth through large-scale theatrical production and couture fashion. For this special, Gaga reimagines those same songs in a more stripped-down, intimate setting—a final act after the opera house has metaphorically crumbled to dust.

Executive produced by Gaga and Michael Polansky, the performance features 15 tracks spanning the album. A preview clip of "Shadow of a Man" has already been released.

How to Watch

The special streams for free on Apple Music at 8 p.m. PT on May 14, with on-demand access available afterward exclusively to Apple Music subscribers. Theater screenings are happening simultaneously across Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington, DC.

Fans can also use the Shazam app to identify any Lady Gaga song and unlock themed wallpapers, Apple Watch faces, performance photos, and notifications for new Mayhem Requiem content through the special's dedicated Shazam concert page.
