Hudson Stone Steps Into the Spotlight With Debut Single 'Overthinker'

Hudson Stone has officially arrived as a recording artist with the release of his debut single "Overthinker," marking the beginning of what promises to be a dynamic musical career.

The young singer-songwriter sat down to discuss the release and opened up about the influences shaping his artistry, drawing heavily from his notable family background. His father, celebrity chef Curtis Stone, and mother, actress Lindsay Price, have both left their mark on Hudson's approach to creativity and life.

When discussing his mother's heritage, Hudson pointed to a distinctly Korean trait she embodies. "Like my grandmother, she worries," he said with a laugh, highlighting a family characteristic passed down through generations.

From his father's side, Hudson has absorbed a powerful family ethos. The Stone family motto—"Stones never give up"—has become central to Hudson's own philosophy. "I definitely do feel that sense of determination and stubbornness about getting something done," he explained, crediting this mindset as a driving force in his life and work.

Musically, Hudson credits his mother for nurturing his talents. He inherited considerable musicality from her, which provides the foundation for his emerging sound.

The track "Overthinker," which Hudson co-wrote with Brian Phillips and Toni Ferrari, explores the tension between rational thought and emotional instinct. Hudson explained the song's genesis: "I wrote 'Overthinker' because all my life, I've been told that I'm such a deep thinker, which is very true, but it tends to lead to overthinking, which can sometimes get in my way. When I fell in love, it was the first time I just didn't think, and my heart took over. So, this song is a reminder to people that love is all about diving in with your whole heart."

Hudson's musical influences span a diverse range of contemporary and modern artists. He draws inspiration from Dominic Fike, John Mayer, The Strokes, and Leon Bridges, crafting a signature blend of guitar-driven indie rock infused with soulful narratives and pop sensibilities.

The 14-year-old recently inked a deal with Hollywood Records and has an ambitious schedule ahead. Beyond releasing additional music, Hudson will take on the role of Desi in the forthcoming Camp Rock 3. He's also set to tour this fall as part of the Worlds Collide Concert Tour.
