Hudson Williams made his Met Gala debut on Monday, May 4, turning heads in a blue Balenciaga ensemble paired with striking blue and red eyeshadow designed to channel Natalie Portman's iconic Black Swan aesthetic.

The appearance didn't sit well with everyone. Some of the 25-year-old Heated Rivalry actor's fans and fashion observers questioned whether the look aligned with the event's "Fashion is Art" dress code and "Costume Art" theme, sparking considerable discussion across social media.

Williams' groomer, Aika Flores, took to Threads to weigh in on the mixed reception. "Met Gala was chaos & a career highlight. High pressure, high stakes," Flores wrote. "As an artist, I receive all feedback, positive & negative, with grace & gratitude; it's all part of growth."

Flores acknowledged that bold creative choices come with challenges. "Taking a risk always comes at a cost, & I stand by that. There's always room to evolve, no matter where I am in my career," she noted. She also urged critics to consider the human element behind the work, writing: "But while everyone is entitled to an opinion, it's important to remember there's a human with feelings behind the work, building something with purpose, vision, & heart. It cost nothing to be kind."

The post concluded with a broader message: "Please be kind to each other. *logging off."

Photos and details from the star-studded event, including images of Williams alongside his co-star Connor Storrie, have since circulated publicly.
