Julia Garner and Hudson Williams Spotted Filming 'Tyrant' Thriller in Los Angeles

Julia Garner and Hudson Williams have been captured on camera for the first time while shooting the highly anticipated thriller Tyrant in Los Angeles.
The pair, along with the rest of the production crew, were spotted on Thursday, May 14, working on the Amazon MGM project. During a break in filming, the 32-year-old Weapons star grabbed a bite to eat between takes, while the 25-year-old Heated Rivalry performer took a smoke break as crew members provided shelter with umbrellas.
Director David Weil is helming the thriller, which boasts an impressive lineup of talent. The ensemble cast features Charlize Theron, Demi Moore, Omar Apollo, Paapa Essiedu, and Nara Smith, who recently came aboard the project. Weil both wrote and directed the film, developing the story alongside Cody Behan.
The production marks another major project for Weil, who previously created the Prime Video series Hunters and the miniseries Solos, and co-created Apple TV's Invasion.
According to reports, the film is described as a high-stakes thriller drawing inspiration from Wall Street and Whiplash, with the action centered around New York City's exclusive fine dining world. Amazon and Picture Company secured the rights following a competitive bidding war, with production accelerating once Theron joined the cast in late 2025. Garner eventually signed on as her co-star after multiple A-list names expressed interest in the project.
A theatrical release date has not yet been announced for Tyrant.
