Hulu Greenlit Orange County Spinoff of 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Featuring Bobbi Althoff and Aspyn Ovard

April 21, 2026

Hulu is expanding its hit franchise with a new regional installment. The streamer unveiled plans for "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County" during its Get Real House presentation on Wednesday, April 22.

The spinoff will follow a group of young mothers navigating life in a community where faith serves as both spiritual practice and personal identity. The cast will showcase individuals with contrasting approaches to their beliefs—some defending traditional values against modern influences, while others champion progressive change and challenge established norms. The series promises to explore the tensions between these worldviews as scandals emerge, relationships fracture, and influencers with significant platforms converge to create their own version of motherhood content.

The Orange County roster features viral podcaster Bobbi Althoff, along with influencers Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease, and actress Madison Bontempo.

Speculation about an Orange County spinoff has circulated for months before today's official confirmation. Rob Mills, executive vice president of unscripted and alternative entertainment at Walt Disney Television, discussed the franchise expansion during the event. He explained that while the original series wasn't greenlit with a franchise model in mind, the title itself suggested possibilities for geographic expansion.

"When we titled the show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, we did think, 'Okay, there's a possibility in success that you can do: Secret Lives of Mormon Wives of Blank,'" Mills said. "And once the original Mormon Wives took off immediately, we definitely started talking about it."

Mills emphasized that the network took considerable time to develop the spinoff thoughtfully. The team explored multiple locations and potential casts before settling on Orange County as the right fit. He noted that the original series maintains exceptionally high production standards, with cast members actively involved in producing the show alongside the production team, establishing a benchmark that any spinoff would need to meet.

"We would not have done this if we didn't think it could reach that bar," Mills added.

Meanwhile, the original "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" is preparing to resume production on its fifth season following a production pause in March.
