Imogen Poots and John Reynolds Lead Prime Video's Upcoming 'Sex Criminals' Series

Imogen Poots and John Reynolds are joining forces for Prime Video's next original series.

Variety revealed on Friday, May 8, that the pair will headline the streaming platform's upcoming show Sex Criminals. The project draws from the acclaimed comic book of the same name and was initially unveiled in January with a commitment for eight episodes.

According to the official description, the story follows Suze, played by Poots, a seemingly ordinary woman who possesses an extraordinary power: time freezes when she engages in sexual activity. Her world shifts when she encounters Jon, portrayed by Reynolds, who harbors the identical ability. The two then embark on an unconventional venture, using their shared gift to execute bank heists.

The series is being developed by Kumail Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon, and Tze Chun, who serve as co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers on the project. Nanjiani is also set to take on a mystery role within the series, though specific details about his character remain under wraps.

The casting announcement represents a significant step forward for the adaptation as it moves toward production.
