Irina Shayk Commands Attention in Daring Alexander Wang at 2026 Met Gala

Irina Shayk made a bold fashion statement on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 4, as she graced the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala in New York City.

The 40-year-old Russian supermodel opted for a daring ensemble that showcased her sculpted frame. Her look centered on a diamond-studded bra top by designer Alexander Wang, worn without coverage on top and paired with an elegant floor-length black skirt.

To complete the striking outfit, Shayk incorporated watch-inspired accessories that became the focal point of her appearance. Chokers adorned her neck, while arm bracelets and a chain that extended down to her navel added architectural interest to the design.

"Conceived as a wearable archive, the look draws on Surrealist principles, recontextualising functional objects as fashion," Wang explained in a statement. "Chains replace seams and clasps replace stitching, while watches anchor the body as both closure and focal point."

This year's Met Gala celebrates the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Art exhibition, which examines "the centrality of the dressed body" through representations of the human form drawn from the institution's renowned collection. The evening's theme, "Fashion is Art," brought together some of entertainment's biggest names, with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and former Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour serving as co-chairs for the prestigious annual event.
