Jaafar Jackson Walks Red Carpet with Michael Jackson Family at 'Michael' Premiere
The Jackson family turned out in force for a major Hollywood moment on Monday night.
Jaafar Jackson, the 29-year-old singer and actor who is Michael Jackson's real-life nephew, made his way down the red carpet at the "Michael" premiere held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on April 20. The event drew several members of the Jackson clan, who came to support Jaafar's starring role in the film.
Among those present was Prince Jackson, Michael's son, who posed for photos alongside his cousin. The premiere also welcomed Michael's siblings—La Toya, Jermaine, Marlon, and Jackie—all in attendance for the occasion.
Not everyone from the family was there. Paris Jackson, Michael's daughter, has publicly expressed concerns about the film and did not attend. Her brother Bigi had previously appeared at another red carpet event for the project but was absent from Monday's premiere.
The Michael Jackson estate has thrown its weight behind the film, backing reshoots to the tune of approximately $10-15 million. The movie hits theaters on April 24, with a soundtrack that pulls 13 tracks from Michael's catalog, spanning his early years through the "Bad" album era of 1987.
Jaafar arrived dressed in Saint Laurent for the evening.
