Michael Biopic Cast Shines at 2026 Met Gala

The fresh ensemble behind the Michael biopic commanded attention on Monday evening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 2026 Met Gala in New York City.
Jaafar Jackson made his Met Gala debut for the occasion, turning out in a Polo Ralph Lauren Fall 2026 ensemble. His look featured a velvet jacket paired with a silk vest, cotton pleated tuxedo shirt, silk bowtie, and coordinating socks and shoes.
Joining Jackson was his on-screen mother Nia Long, who also experienced the Met Gala for the first time. Long selected a LaQuan Smith design for her inaugural appearance, and was spotted departing her hotel with the designer himself. She accessorized with a striking Leviev necklace.
The cast's fashion lineup also included Colman Domingo, who donned a custom Valentino creation from creative director Alessandro Michele. The intricate piece featured a pleated chiffon jacket showcasing a woven pattern drawing from Valentino's signature harlequin motif, complete with a hand-pleated black satin waistband that required 268 hours to construct. Paired with black wool bootcut trousers featuring red satin side bands embellished with hand-embroidered beads and sequins—a process taking 140 hours—Domingo finished the look with Valentino Garavani accessories.
Laura Harrier rounded out the group in a custom DiPesta gown, completed with an Isabel Delgado necklace and Briony Raymond Vintage Diamond Flame earrings.
The film itself has already made a significant impact since its recent theatrical release, with its opening weekend shattering box office records for biographical films.
