Jake Shane Opens Up About His Nervousness Interviewing Lorde on Therapuss

Jake Shane has been candid about his experience hosting one of his most high-profile guests on his podcast.

The 26-year-old podcast host, known for bringing major celebrities onto Therapuss, sat down with Role Model for Interview magazine and discussed the interview that rattled him more than most. Shane revealed that having Lorde on the show left him feeling especially anxious.

When the conversation turned to how Shane typically starts interviews with visible nervousness before eventually settling in, he acknowledged the pattern. "I'll settle eventually. I was pretty nervous for Lorde," he shared.

For longtime listeners of Therapuss, this admission tracks. Shane has frequently discussed his deep admiration for pop artists, and Lorde's influence on his musical taste during his formative years holds particular significance for him.

"Love her. I actually met her at your birthday dinner," Shane mentioned to Role Model, before the two quickly walked back the comment, clarifying that Lorde was not actually present at the event.

Lorde's appearance on Therapuss took place in June 2025, and during that episode, Shane made no secret of how monumental the booking felt. "I literally called everyone up, and I said, 'This is a 911. Lorde is coming in on Saturday. I'm sick about it and cancel your plans,'" he recalled.
