James Marsden Signs On to Lead Apple TV Thriller 'Disavowed'

James Marsden is taking on a new role at Apple TV. The 52-year-old Emmy-nominated performer will star in the upcoming thriller series Disavowed, Variety reported on Wednesday, May 6.
The series centers on Brad Griffin, a legendary CIA Case Officer portrayed by Marsden, who finds himself terminated from his position while pursuing a global manhunt for a mysterious assassin tied to his colleague's death. Cast out and stripped of his credentials, Griffin pursues a $15 million federal bounty placed on the assassin's head.
The project springs from an original concept developed by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, both of whom contributed to the screenplay for 2008's Iron Man, the superhero film headlined by Robert Downey Jr. and helmed by Jon Favreau. Marsden, Marcum, and Holloway are all set to serve as executive producers.
This marks Marsden's latest venture with the Apple TV platform, following his appearance in the second season of Your Friends & Neighbors, where he plays Owen Ashe. That season debuted last month.
The network has not yet announced a premiere date for Disavowed.
