Jasmine Amy Rogers Set for Back-to-Back Broadway Roles, Including 'The Sound of Music' Revival

Jasmine Amy Rogers is locking in major Broadway commitments for the coming year. The rising talent, who recently wrapped an acclaimed Off-Broadway turn in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, will next take the stage in the Broadway premiere of School Girls; Or The African Mean Girls Play. Preview nights kick off September 8, with opening night set for September 28.

Following that limited run, Rogers has already secured her next theatrical venture. She's been tapped to play Maria in a revival of The Sound of Music at Lincoln Center Theater. The production will run for 17 weeks beginning March 23, 2027.

At the announcement press conference, director Lear deBessonet spoke to Rogers' casting in glowing terms. "When Jasmine Amy Rogers read for this part, it was like a moment of aesthetic arrest in the room because it was both perfectly the essence of Maria, in all of her joy and her strength and her messiness. But also, there was a real truthfulness that, for me, is going to give people a new experience of the show," the director shared.

Rogers previously earned a Tony nomination for her performance in the title role of Boop! The Musical. The back-to-back Broadway roles mark a significant moment in her rising career on stage.
