Jason Priestley Extends Deal with The CW for 'Private Eyes' West Coast Spinoff

April 27, 2026

Jason Priestley is deepening his ties to The CW with a new project that reunites him with the network for an extended run.

The 56-year-old actor, currently featured in a recurring capacity on the network's series Wild Cards, will headline a spinoff emerging from the Private Eyes franchise. The CW has greenlit Private Eyes West Coast, a ten-episode limited series that brings back Priestley alongside Cindy Sampson, who will reprise her role as Angie Everett.

The spinoff follows the pair's characters as they relocate to the West Coast, leaving their Toronto-based detective agency in their rearview. After stumbling upon a murder scene, the two find themselves thrust back into investigative work in unfamiliar territory.

The setup presents an intriguing premise: "A woman stands over her dead boyfriend with a bloody steak knife in hand. Believing in her innocence, Shade and Angie dive headfirst back into the high-stakes world of investigation," according to the series description.

Throughout the season, the characters navigate the complexities of establishing a new private investigation operation on the West Coast, building professional networks from scratch. Their cases span diverse scenarios—from locating a missing student in British Columbia's wilderness to extracting a confession from a suspect in the coastal town of Tofino.

Beyond his on-screen role, Priestley is taking on additional creative responsibilities. He will serve as an executive producer on the series and helm two episodes as director.

The series is slated to premiere as part of The CW's fall 2026 schedule, though a specific premiere date has not yet been announced.
