Joe Buck to Host New ESPN Jeopardy Spinoff Coming to Disney+ and Hulu
ESPN and the Jeopardy franchise are teaming up for a new sports-focused spinoff series.
The network has unveiled ESPN Jeopardy, which will be available to stream on both Disney+ and Hulu, though an exact premiere date has yet to be announced. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show promises to be "the ultimate match-up between sports and the world's leading quiz show."
Joe Buck, the Emmy-winning Monday Night Football broadcaster, will take the hosting duties. Buck previously served as a guest host for the main Jeopardy program following Alex Trebek's passing in 2020.
The program is designed with "sports fanatics" in mind and will draw questions and material from across ESPN's extensive content library. Participants will select a charity to represent while competing for the $500,000 grand prize and the ESPN Jeopardy champion title.
This marks another addition to the Jeopardy spinoff universe. Crackle previously aired Sports Jeopardy, which completed a three-season run before wrapping up in 2016. Meanwhile, the flagship Jeopardy series continues its regular weeknight broadcasts on ABC.
Pop Culture Jeopardy, another spinoff in the franchise, is making a platform switch for its second season, moving from Amazon Prime Video to Netflix ahead of its May return. Colin Jost, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, will continue hosting the series.
