Jessie James Decker Opens Up About Her Postpartum Fitness Journey

Jessie James Decker is pulling back the curtain on her postpartum fitness experience, offering an unfiltered look at the work behind her physical transformation.
The singer and entrepreneur posted a candid video to Instagram on Sunday, June 14, showcasing her journey after giving birth to her youngest son, Denver Calloway, in February 2024. The footage captures genuine moments from her daily life—working out with her kids in the room, hoisting weights, and pushing a stroller up an incline.
"This video is as raw and real as it gets. I've been anxious to share but here it goes," she wrote alongside the post.
The 38-year-old shares four children with her husband Eric Decker: Vivianne, 12, Eric Jr., 10, Forrest, 8, and Denver, 2. In her caption, she reflected on how pregnancy altered her relationship with her body. Before motherhood, she noted she had always been "a naturally petite fit could eat whatever I wanted and stay in shape kinda girl."
That changed with each pregnancy. She revealed that she gained "over 55 pounds almost every single time" while expecting and emphasized that shedding the weight afterward wasn't instantaneous. "I know what it's like to look in the mirror and not recognize yourself. I know what it's like to feel uncomfortable in your clothes," she wrote. "I know what it's like to put in the work day after day, wonder if it's ever going to happen, and feel completely defeated. I've had to do it four different times over a decade."
Her approach centers on consistency and personal motivation. "I believe if you want something badly enough, you have to be willing to work for it. And feeling strong, energized, and confident is so important to me. Fitness has always been a part of my life, but it took me a long time to find what I truly enjoyed and what kept me wanting to show up consistently," she explained.
Decker was careful to clarify her role, stating: "I'm just a mom of four who loves feeling strong."
The Instagram post also marked the official debut of her JJD FIT Club, a venture she credited to inspiration from a long-running group chat with her mother, sister, and close friend Jessica where they would motivate one another to stay active.
