SNL UK welcomed Nicola Coughlan to the hosting chair on Saturday, April 25, with the Bridgerton and Derry Girls star taking the reins alongside musical guests the Foo Fighters. Coughlan is currently promoting her fantasy adventure film The Magical Faraway Tree, which debuted in UK cinemas earlier that week.

During her opening remarks, Coughlan touched on the surreal nature of landing the gig, describing the studio as having an almost magical quality. That's when Late Night host Jimmy Fallon emerged from the wings to affirm her instincts, launching into an energetic tour designed to demonstrate exactly what makes hosting the legendary sketch show such a special experience.

Fallon walked Coughlan through various corners of the studio, emphasizing the freedom and spontaneity that comes with being in control of a live broadcast. The pair ventured into the audience, playfully interacting with attendees, before making their way backstage where they enlisted Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to participate in their bit.

The sequence culminated in a raunchy rap number promoting Coughlan's film, with Fallon playing a character named Keith who works in on-set catering. The pair traded verses to hype up the movie for the studio executives, blending comedy with promotion in classic SNL fashion.
