Jimmy Kimmel Taps Rosie O'Donnell for Guest Host Slot, Takes Jab at Trump

Jimmy Kimmel is keeping his ABC talk show fresh during his summer hiatus, and he seized the opportunity to take a dig at President Donald Trump while unveiling his slate of guest hosts.
The late-night host and ABC have released the lineup of personalities who will fill in starting the week of July 6. The roster includes Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Jelly Roll, Ike Barinholtz, and Anthony Anderson, along with Rosie O'Donnell.
In announcing O'Donnell's appearance, Kimmel couldn't resist a quip aimed at the president. "And as a special treat for our commander in chief, I asked one of his all-time favorites, Rosie O'Donnell, to be here to keep the hits coming," Kimmel said. "You're welcome, and all I ask in return, Mr. President, is that you don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."
The move plays on the well-documented tension between O'Donnell and Trump, whose public clash spans decades. Their rivalry traces back to O'Donnell's time on The View, where the two exchanged criticism that eventually extended into the political arena. Trump has frequently referenced O'Donnell in interviews and social media throughout the years.
The guest-host announcement marks another instance of Kimmel weighing in on the Trump administration, following recent comments he made about the president earlier this month.
