Jodie Comer is taking on a leading role in an upcoming HBO limited series.

The 33-year-old Emmy and Tony-winning actress will headline The Chain, an eight-episode series set to air on the network. The project, which was first revealed in January, comes under creator Damon Lindelof's overall deal with HBO. Lindelof is attached to write, executive produce, and serve as showrunner.

Comer will play Rachel, a suburban mother confronting an extraordinary crisis when her daughter vanishes. The limited series adapts Adrian McKinty's 2019 thriller novel of the same name.

The British actress has built a decorated career spanning television and film. She earned widespread recognition for her acclaimed performance in Killing Eve, which brought her an Emmy, BAFTA, and other major honors. In 2023, she added a Tony Award to her collection for her work in the Broadway production Prima Facie.

Her film credits include appearances in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Free Guy, The Last Duel, The Bikeriders, and 28 Years Later.

Comer's upcoming theatrical release is The Death of Robin Hood, where she stars opposite Hugh Jackman and Bill Skarsgard. The film arrives in cinemas on June 19.
