Joey King made an appearance at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Thursday, May 28, for the premiere of a major new exhibition dedicated to Marilyn Monroe.

The 26-year-old actress mingled with guests at the opening reception for "Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon," where she was photographed alongside Amy Homma, the Academy Museum's director and president since 2024. The event also drew Barbie Ferreira, Melanie Griffith, and renowned celebrity florist Jeff Leatham.

The exhibition offers an expansive look at Monroe's life and career, tracing her journey from her birth as Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, through her rise to stardom. The display features hundreds of artifacts spanning posters, portraits, photographs, production documents, letters, and personal items rarely seen by the public.

A significant focus of the exhibition centers on Monroe's most memorable on-screen looks. Visitors will encounter costumes from across her filmography, ranging from pieces worn in Love Happy (1949) to wardrobe items from her final project, the unfinished film Something's Got to Give (1962).

Among the standout pieces on view are two costumes designed by Orry-Kelly for Some Like It Hot (1959) and the legendary pink gown created by William Travilla for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953).

For the evening, King dressed in an Elie Saab gown, accessorized with an Aspinal of London bag, L'Atelier Nawbar earrings and ring, Melinda Maria bracelets, and Naked Wolfe shoes.
