Jonathan Bailey and Natalie Portman Reunite for Psychological Thriller 'Pumping Black'

Jonathan Bailey and Natalie Portman are joining forces for an upcoming film project.
Variety revealed on Friday, May 8, that the 38-year-old Bridgerton star and 44-year-old Academy Award-winning actress have been cast in Pumping Black, a psychological thriller exploring the intense and ruthless landscape of professional cycling.
The film centers on Taylor Mace, a 35-year-old cyclist confronting the reality of aging out of his sport. He becomes mentored by Andrea Lathe, a physician whose own hunger for success and influence shapes their dynamic. As the competition toward the Tour de France intensifies, Taylor finds himself forced into increasingly troubling choices to safeguard a critical secret.
Described as an "adrenaline fuelled, dangerous thriller," the project draws comparisons to acclaimed films Black Swan and Whiplash in its exploration of obsession and the price of ambition.
Mimi Cave will helm the production, working from a screenplay penned by Haley Hope Bartels.
The casting announcement arrives following the recent news of Portman expecting her third child.
