Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Josh Jacobs, the 28-year-old running back for the Green Bay Packers, has been arrested in Wisconsin following an alleged domestic violence incident.
The arrest came on Tuesday, May 26, three days after a disturbance call on Saturday, May 23. According to Brown County Jail records, Jacobs is facing felony charges of strangulation and suffocation—assault, along with misdemeanor charges including battery—assault, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, and intimidation of a victim.
He remains in custody without bond, per records obtained by People.
The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department responded to a disturbance complaint at approximately 8:37 a.m. on May 23. Following their investigation, Jacobs was arrested and booked into Brown County Jail on May 26 with the charges listed as battery with domestic abuse elements, criminal damage to property with domestic abuse elements, disorderly conduct with domestic abuse elements, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
Police stated the case remains an active investigation with no further details to be released at this time.
The National Football League has acknowledged the situation. According to reports, the league is aware of the arrest and has been in communication with the Packers organization regarding the matter.
Jacobs, who joined the Packers in 2024, has had a notable career trajectory. He played college football at Alabama before being selected by the Oakland Raiders in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He earned All-Rookie Team honors that same year and made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2020.
