Kane Brown Sidelined After Golf Ball Strikes Head, Requiring 23 Stitches

Country music star Kane Brown is on the mend following an unexpected accident on the golf course.

The 32-year-old artist was slated to perform at the Tight Ends & Friends Concert Presented by Sports Illustrated and Reese's in Nashville on Tuesday, June 23, but withdrew from the event after sustaining a head injury. According to former NFL player Will Compton, Brown was struck by a golf ball while playing, which resulted in 23 stitches.

Brown documented the incident himself on Instagram Stories, posting images of the injury. "Shot in the head by a golf ball," he captioned one photo showing his bloody ear. In another post featuring his stitches, he wrote, "Just a scratch," before adding in a subsequent update, "That said it will prob get worse next 48 hours but I'm alive and that's all that matters holy crap."

The "Used to Love You Sober" artist's wife, Katelyn, provided additional details about the severity of the accident the following day. In a video posted to her Instagram Story, she explained that the incident was particularly dangerous because of the proximity and force involved. "This wasn't a golf ball that had been flying through the air and had been losing momentum. He was right off the side from it," she said. "It could have been so much worse."

Katelyn shared positive news regarding Brown's medical evaluation. "We got great news after his CT scans —nothing internally, no skull fractures — this was just all basically external with a minor concussion. We were so relieved," she noted.

The Nashville concert proceeded without Brown, with Taylor Swift stepping in to deliver a surprise performance. Well-wishers are hoping for Brown's quick return to full health.
