Katharine McPhee Addresses Chrishell Stause's Criticism Over Her Support of Spencer Pratt

Katharine McPhee is weighing in on criticism she received from Chrishell Stause following her support of Spencer Pratt's run for mayor of Los Angeles.

The 44-year-old former Selling Sunset star took aim at the 42-year-old American Idol alum, accusing her of backing "problematic men." Stause shared her thoughts across social media platforms, writing, "One day she will find her real inner confidence but it won't come until after she is disgarded enough times by the problematic men she backs. An insecure woman will steal your man, and give the worst advice."

When a fan questioned McPhee's initial remarks that prompted Stause's response on an Instagram post covering the exchange, McPhee clarified her position. "Honestly, I have no idea. I am just as confused about this controversy as you lmao," she wrote.

Stause's original commentary surfaced on a TikTok video from influencer Jordy Cray that examined McPhee's romantic history. The video highlighted 2013 photos showing McPhee kissing her Smash director Michael Morris while both were married to other people, and also discussed her marriage to David Foster, who is 35 years her senior.

On Threads, Stause further elaborated on her position regarding McPhee's involvement with Pratt's campaign. "But if you are in these streets campaigning for Trump backed Pratt, yeah I'm gonna eye roll your advice on men Katherine," she wrote.

While various celebrities have publicly endorsed Pratt's mayoral bid, at least one prominent comedian has made clear they will not support him at the ballot box.
