KATSEYE Takes Home New Artist of the Year at 2026 AMAs, Delivers Standout Performance

KATSEYE made a memorable impression at the 2026 American Music Awards, securing both a major award and a prime performance slot at the ceremony held Monday evening.
Taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25, the event saw the five-member K-pop group triumph in the New Artist of the Year category. KATSEYE's win came against competition from Alex Warren, Ella Langley, Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean, and Sombr.
The award marks recognition in a category that has previously honored major chart-toppers. Doja Cat claimed the prize in 2020, followed by Olivia Rodrigo in 2021, Dove Cameron in 2022, and Gracie Abrams in 2025.
For their stage appearance, KATSEYE performed their single "Pinky Up," with members Daniela, Megan, Yoonchae, Sophia, and Lara Raj taking the stage. The performance featured an eye-catching set design that included a giant bear. The group appeared as a five-member lineup, with Manon currently on hiatus from the ensemble.
The ceremony aired live on CBS and was hosted by Queen Latifah, marking her return to the hosting duties after more than three decades. Taylor Swift led the night's nominations with eight total nods across various categories.
