Rita Wilson Delivers Heartfelt Tribute to Kelly Clarkson as Talk Show Winds Down

Rita Wilson stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday's episode to share some meaningful reflections about the program's legacy—and the 69-year-old actress and musician's words moved Kelly to tears.
During the May 27 installment, Wilson took a moment to express her gratitude before the interview wrapped. "I just wanna say one thing before we go," she began. "I wanna thank you for the years that you've been doing your show. I wanna thank you for literally changing the game when it came to daytime television. The fact that you love music. That you have brought so much music to daytime that you have shared with us."
She continued with her praise, acknowledging the impact of Clarkson's talents and those of her band. "Your voice, your gifts, and everyone else's and your incredible band. I really wanna thank you because it has made a big change in my life. So thank you, Kelly."
The heartfelt words visibly affected Clarkson, who began to tear up. Mouthing "I'm fine," she rose from her seat to embrace Wilson, saying the tribute was "so nice." As she composed herself, Clarkson joked, "Oh my God! I'm like, 'Shut it off!' It's okay. Thanks."
The appearance comes as Clarkson's daytime program prepares for its final chapter. After months of speculation, she confirmed earlier this year that the show will conclude following its seventh season, with the last episodes slated to air in Fall 2026.
