Kim Kardashian's 2016 Paris Heist Becoming Four-Part Docu-Series for Canal+
The infamous 2016 Paris robbery of Kim Kardashian is heading to the small screen as a documentary series.
The incident, which took place in October 2016, saw the then-45-year-old reality television star targeted by a group of men posing as law enforcement. The perpetrators broke into her hotel room, held her at gunpoint, and made off with jewelry valued at millions of dollars.
Pernel Media has now greenlit a four-part documentary series examining the heist, which carries the title Kim, the Diamond and the Grandpa Robbers. The project is being developed for broadcast on Canal+.
According to the series description, the production will "pull back the curtain on one of the decade's boldest celebrity heists, drawing on rare and exclusive access to those at its centre – including members of the gang and the lawyers who defended them." Kardashian is not involved with the project, according to reports.
Samuel Kissous, founder of Pernel Media and executive producer on the series, commented on the production: "With roots in France and one of the most famous names in the world, this premium pop crime series sits very much within the DNA of the international productions that we at Pernel Media love to put together — combining strong storytelling with projects designed to travel."
The documentary is being helmed by director Agnès Buthion and is slated for release in early 2027.
In early 2025, a trial concluded involving 12 individuals connected to the robbery. The court proceedings resulted in eight convictions and two acquittals. Kardashian provided testimony during the trial. The suspects became known to media outlets as the "Grandpa Robbers" due to their advanced ages.
During an episode of The Kardashians, Kardashian revealed that ex-husband Kanye West had suggested she fabricated the robbery.
