KJ Apa and Mr. Fantasy Spotted Dining Together, Sparking Fresh Questions About Identity

The long-running speculation surrounding Riverdale's KJ Apa and viral music sensation Mr. Fantasy took another twist this week when the two were spotted sharing a meal together.

On Friday, May 23, TikTok user @angelaryan03 captured footage of what appeared to be both figures dining at Great White restaurant in West Hollywood, California. The video quickly circulated online, with the user writing, "i literally just saw mr. fantasy and kj apa having dinner in weho im shook." Celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi also shared photos from the sighting.

The sighting has only deepened the mystery that's captivated social media for months. Mr. Fantasy exploded in popularity last year before appearing in the 2025 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, at which point widespread speculation began circulating that he and Apa were the same person. The theory gained traction due to striking physical similarities and matching tattoos, with many observers noting that Apa appeared to be using a wig and prosthetic teeth as part of the alter-ego.

The tension between the two seemingly came to a head recently when Apa called out Mr. Fantasy following the release of the musician's "Do Me Right" music video, which featured appearances from several of the actor's friends. "Enough is enough. I won't sit back any longer and watch someone attempt to ruin my life and everything I have worked for," Apa stated.

The Friday sighting has sent fans into overdrive with theories. Many are now convinced that someone else entirely is impersonating Mr. Fantasy to perpetuate the viral moment. "That IS KJ but that is NOT Mr. Fantasy," one commenter wrote, while another suggested, "I love how far he's willing to go for the bit."
