Kodak Black Arrested Again, Second Detention in Less Than Two Weeks

Kodak Black finds himself back in custody following a second arrest within eight days.

The 28-year-old Florida-based rapper, born Bill Kapri, was taken into custody Thursday, May 14, on charges of resisting an officer without violence and attempting to flee from law enforcement. Records from the Broward County Sheriff's Office confirm he was booked into the Broward County Jail with his bond set at $0. Both charges remain pending trial.

Black's legal team characterized the latest detention as a self-surrender stemming from a prolonged investigation. "This is a self surrender from yet another 'investigation' that just happened to also take 5 months to 'investigate' for allegedly fleeing and alluding," his attorney stated to media outlets.

The attorney further suggested a pattern of repeated legal action, noting: "It's not unexpected, as this is usually the procedure we go through where there is an unfounded weak arrest and then followed up by yet another arrest for cases that allegedly take 5 or 6 months to investigate. At this point I think everyone agrees that Kodak is consistently being targeted."

This latest arrest follows a May 6 detention on felony charges related to MDMA trafficking. That arrest connected to an alleged incident from November 2025 in Orlando near the Children's Safety Village, where gunfire was reported, according to the arrest warrant documents.

Black's legal troubles stretch back several years. He faced drug possession charges in Florida during 2023, felony drug charges in 2022, and weapons charges in 2019.
