Kris Jenner Opens Up About Ozempic Experience, Explains Why She Switched Treatments

Kris Jenner is publicly discussing her experience with Ozempic for the first time, revealing that while she gave the medication a try, it didn't work out as intended.
The 70-year-old momager appeared on the "She MD" podcast to share details about her encounter with the drug. "We tried it once when no one knew what it was," she explained, noting that the timing was before Ozempic became widely recognized.
The experiment was short-lived, however. Jenner experienced nausea as a side effect, which prompted her to seek an alternative approach. "I called [Dr. Thais Aliabadi] up one day and I go, 'I can't work anymore. I can't, I'm so sick. I can't like—nauseous.' And so she goes, 'Okay, okay, let's try something else,'" she recounted during the podcast appearance.
With her physician's guidance, Jenner pivoted to a different treatment plan. She began using an unspecified peptide injection combined with targeted supplements instead. Fish oil was among the supplements she incorporated into her regimen.
The shift proved beneficial for her lifestyle. "I felt like I had more energy. And of course, it's good for hair, and nails, and skin and all of that stuff," Jenner noted. She credited the new approach with giving her an additional boost of stamina during her evenings—something she particularly valued given her demanding schedule. "That actually bought me an extra couple hours at night. Because I get up so early, I tend to want to go and collapse as soon as I have my last email or my last call or see my kids and have dinner and I'm done," she said.
Ozempic, a medication developed to treat type 2 diabetes, functions by mimicking a hormone that regulates both blood sugar levels and appetite, according to Harvard Medical School. The drug has garnered significant attention in recent years for its weight-loss applications beyond its original diabetes treatment purpose.
