Kristen Stewart and Woody Harrelson's 'Full Phil' Earns Lengthy Standing Ovation at Cannes

Kristen Stewart and Woody Harrelson brought their latest project to the spotlight at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, walking the red carpet Saturday (May 16) for the premiere of Full Phil in Cannes, France.
The pair star opposite one another as a father and daughter in the film, which made its debut at the prestigious annual festival. They were accompanied by fellow cast members Eric Wareheim, Tim Heidecker, Emma Mackey, and Charlotte Le Bon, alongside writer-director Quentin Dupieux and producer Hugo Selignac.
The movie follows the story of a parent and child who journey to Paris seeking to strengthen their bond, only to find their plans derailed by French culinary experiences, a vintage 1950s horror film, and an intrusive hotel worker, according to Variety.
While the screening prompted varied responses from the crowd, it ultimately culminated in a five-minute standing ovation. The ensemble also participated in a photo call earlier that day at the festival.
Stewart has expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Dupieux, praising his distinctive directorial style. "I love his movies. They just don't look or feel like anyone else's, and those are the types of directors that actors are so lucky to be able to follow," she shared with Variety prior to the festival. "He holds the camera at all times. You are with him, connected completely. He knows how he's going to edit it by the end of the day. If he's missing a shot, he gets it. He's beyond an auteur, he's like a mastermind."
For the premiere, Stewart donned a Chanel gown, while Harrelson wore Celine. Mackey made an appearance in a custom Louis Vuitton dress.
