Kylie Minogue marked the arrival of her Netflix documentary with an exclusive screening event in London on Monday, May 18, held at the Frameless venue.

The pop superstar, known for the hit "Padam Padam," welcomed a constellation of notable guests to celebrate the launch of her new docuseries. Among those in attendance were her longtime Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, her sister Dannii Minogue, television personality Amanda Holden, broadcaster Clara Amfo, and Louise Redknapp.

The creative team behind the project was also present, including director Michael Harte and Ventureland producers John Battsek and Sarah Thomson. Netflix's UK head of documentary series Adam Hawkins and director of documentary film Kate Townsend represented the streaming platform.

The guest list extended to influencers and entertainment figures including Max Balegde, Alexa Louise Williams, Kitty Scott-Claus, Coco Fennell, Courtney Act, Charles Jeffrey, Tim Burgess, Munroe Bergdorf, and DJ Fat Tony, among many others.

Speaking about her decision to participate in the documentary, Minogue explained that she had received multiple requests over the years to make one but felt the timing wasn't right initially. Producer John Battsek first approached her in 2018, though she didn't meet with him until 2020 or 2021, and it took several more years before she committed to the project.

"I guess I let the idea simmer and percolate," she reflected. She noted that the timing felt particularly meaningful following the release of "Padam" and Tension. "It felt like another wave, another juggernaut moment in my life and career."

Director Michael Harte's involvement was instrumental in her final decision. "I didn't know what story he was going to tell, I just trusted Michael," she said.

Describing her emotional reaction upon viewing the finished series, Minogue revealed she felt overwhelmed by the final act. "By the time I got to the end of act three, I felt overwhelmed. But what he's done in the final edit and the way he's used one of my songs to top and tail the series and because I got over the finish line, I leapt out of my seat!" She added that she was "panicked and electrified" watching the completed work.

The three-part documentary explores Minogue's extraordinary career trajectory as one of music's most enduring figures. Having sold over 80 million records worldwide, she has continuously reinvented pop music across multiple decades. The series draws from her personal archives, including home video footage and photographs, alongside new interviews with Minogue herself.

The documentary examines not only her chart-topping achievements but also the personal dimensions of her life—the public scrutiny she has faced, moments of personal loss, and her experiences with illness. Throughout these challenges, the series chronicles how she has navigated adversity with resilience and grace, building respect that extends far beyond her dedicated fanbase.

KYLIE premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, May 20.
