Prime Video's 'Elle' Prequel Unveils First Footage and Cast Photos Ahead of July Debut

The wait is almost over for fans curious about Elle Woods' origin story. Prime Video has unveiled the first teaser footage and images from the upcoming prequel series Elle, giving audiences their first real look at the show set to premiere this summer.

The ensemble cast brings the story to life, with Lexi Minetree taking on the younger version of the iconic Elle Woods. June Diane Raphael portrays her mother Eva, while Tom Everett Scott plays her father Wyatt. The supporting cast rounds out with Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker, and Amy Pietz. James Van Der Beek, in his final acting role, appears in a recurring capacity throughout the season.

Set in 1995, the series transports viewers back to Elle's high school days, long before she made waves at Harvard Law School. The narrative centers on her navigation through the complexities of teenage life—tangled friendships, romantic complications, and fashion experiments that define the era. Throughout these formative experiences, Elle leans on her family for grounding, particularly deepening her connection with her mother. The season charts Elle's evolution, showing how each obstacle she overcomes shapes her into the character audiences know from the films.

Elle makes its streaming debut on Prime Video on July 1, 2026. The platform has already committed to a second season, signaling confidence in the project's potential.
