Lena Dunham Reveals Her Husband's First Impression When They Met

During a recent Q&A event in Los Angeles, Lena Dunham shared an endearing anecdote about the beginning of her relationship with her husband, Luis Felber.

The 40-year-old creator, actress, and author was discussing her early romance while on the promotional trail for her Famesick book tour. Speaking with former Girls co-star Rita Wilson on May 20, Dunham described how their initial meeting came about through an unexpected route.

According to Dunham's account, Felber received an Instagram message inquiring whether he would be interested in joining her for dinner. The message led to what would become a life-changing blind date.

When the two first met, Felber made an assumption about Dunham's profession that she found particularly charming. "He said, 'I thought you might be a curve model,'" Dunham recalled with evident affection. "I went, 'That is the loveliest thing I've ever heard.'"

Notably, Felber had never watched Girls before their encounter, meaning he approached Dunham without preconceived notions shaped by her career. Dunham appreciated this quality in him, noting that he "didn't seem to come with a lot of preconceived ideas about who I was," while remaining "present and interested but not too interested."

The couple's connection deepened quickly. They began dating after meeting in 2021, moved in together within months, and married in September of that year. Reflecting on her relationship, Dunham expressed genuine warmth about her husband, stating that she enjoys discussing him because "he fills me with joy."
