Larry David and Barack Obama Launch Historical Comedy Sketch Series on HBO

HBO has unveiled its latest comedy venture, bringing together comedy icon Larry David and former President Barack Obama for a new sketch series titled Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.
The 78-year-old comedy veteran and 64-year-old Obama are collaborating on the project, which will consist of seven episodes. Michelle Obama joins as a producer alongside Larry and Barack on the endeavor.
In the trailer, Obama reflects on his extensive experience on the world stage: "I have sat across the table from some of the world's most intractable leaders and wrestled with some of the globe's most intractable problems. Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David."
The series centers on comedy sketches set throughout various chapters of American history, with each episode featuring four different sketches. The official description notes: "President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honor America's 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion… But then Larry David called."
Viewers can anticipate a Barack Obama cameo appearance somewhere within the season.
The project boasts an impressive lineup of guest stars. Several Curb Your Enthusiasm regulars are on board, including Jeff Garlin, J.B. Smoove, Vince Vaughn, and Susie Essman, with Essman portraying Susan B. Anthony. Additional casting includes Bill Hader and Kathryn Hahn as Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln respectively, Jon Hamm and Sean Hayes as the Wright brothers, and Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld playing Lewis and Clark.
Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness arrives on HBO and HBO Max on Friday, June 26 at 9pm ET.
