Lindsie Chrisley Arrested on DUI Suspicion in Georgia Over Weekend

Reality TV personality Lindsie Chrisley was taken into custody over the weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence in Georgia.

The 36-year-old former star of Chrisley Knows Best was arrested Saturday evening, May 23, and booked into jail before being released early the following morning, according to jail records.

In comments to the media, Chrisley explained the circumstances of her traffic stop. "I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was," she stated. She indicated her intention to contest the charge.

The arrest comes roughly a month after her boyfriend, David Landsman, was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault. According to reports, Landsman contacted police to turn himself in following an altercation with Chrisley. A source indicated that the confrontation grew heated when Landsman allegedly became defensive after Chrisley questioned him about a dishonesty, and his behavior escalated as she attempted to disengage from the argument. Officers who responded to the scene reportedly observed injuries on Chrisley.

Chrisley's current legal troubles add to her complicated family dynamics. She remains estranged from her father, Todd Chrisley, who has maintained that she cooperated with federal authorities in connection with his arrest on tax evasion charges. Chrisley has consistently refuted involvement in that matter. The family rift became public last year when her younger sister, Savannah Chrisley, discussed the estrangement between Lindsie and other family members.
