Lizzo Unveils Third Studio Album 'Bitch,' Details Reclamation of Controversial Title
Lizzo is stepping into new creative territory with a bold project announcement.
The "Juice" hitmaker revealed plans for her third studio album, titled Bitch, coming June 5. The title track—which samples Meredith Brooks' 1997 chart hit bearing the same name—will arrive Friday, May 1, complete with an accompanying music video.
The 38-year-old artist opened up about her choice of title, framing it as an act of empowerment. "Reclaiming the word Bitch is power – it's taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence, and unapologetic self-love," she shared.
Lizzo pointed to other female musicians who've embraced the word positively throughout their careers. "So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliot. It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms and because I am 100% that bitch!"
The album features her previously released single "Don't Make Me Love U" among its tracks. Beyond music, Lizzo is expanding her creative reach with a children's book, Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin', launching in September and drawing from her own musical background.
Recently, the "Good as Hell" vocalist was spotted in Hollywood, California, where she attended her boyfriend Myke Wright's final performance at The Hotel Cafe, the pair walking together arm-in-arm.
